Greetings,

This is your official invitation to apply to The Eleventh Annual New Orleans Giant Puppet Festival. The 2025 fest will open on Thursday, April 3rd and run through Monday, April 7th. We can begin technical rehearsals as early as the Tuesday, April 1rst. All load out must be complete by Tuesday April 8th. The festival is currently in the process of applying for grants to fund next years art and activities including limited travel stipends. We always do our best to procure free or lowcost housing. There are opportunities to vend merchandise at every venue and at the PUPPET MARKET.

Slams occur nightly, so you are encouraged to bring more than one!

Slam pieces should be a maximum 10 min in length.

This year’s festival also features two Giant Puppet Parades: a nighttime parade on Saturday April 5th and a daytime parade on Sunday April 6th. Bring your wares—large puppets, lanterns, masks, stilt costumes—to participate.

In its eleventh year, our festival is receiving more applicants than ever before. While this is thrilling our space is limited. We do our best to accommodate everyone but if you don’t receive a mainstage position please consider one of the many ways to attend and get involved!

Please complete the Artist Application Form in full and send it to  neworleansgiantpuppetfestival@gmail.com by August 31st.  If you have a workshop to propose, please describe it in detail including the skills featured, age group and ideal number of participants.
